Ground source heat pump systems are widely used because of their high efficiency, energy saving, safety and stability, and low operating costs. However, there are also problems that the system efficiency is reduced due to the imbalance between the system’s heat rejection and heat extraction, and even the normal operation is not possible. Therefore, many scholars propose the solutions of hybrid energy. However, the soil cold and heat balance is not only related to the energy ratio of the ground source heat pump system in the hybrid energy system, but also related to the operating time of the ground source heat pump system. Therefore, the research on the operation strategy of the hybrid energy system is particularly important. Taking a dormitory building in Beijing as an example, using DeST software to calculate the hourly dynamic load throughout the year, and using GLD software to simulate the operating status of the system under different control strategies, concludes the best operating strategy that can not only meet the requirements of soil cold and heat balance, but also ensure the efficient operation of the system.
